Spin Ceramics in NYC

As most know, people from all over the globe became enamored with Chinese porcelain works during the 17 th century. Artisans in the international community worked diligently to reproduce the craftsmanship. The influence became so strong, that you can clearly note the similarities between European Bone China, Japanese porcelain, Korean porcelain, and Chinese porcelain works. During the civil upset after the 19 th century, China lost its hold as the leader of artisanal porcelain works. Japan happily stepped in and took their place as the industry leader.

Spin Ceramics is of particular interest to me -- holding strong to the history and foundation of porcelain itself. I find it particularly curious that much of the Chinese pieces are presented in a Japanese fashion. I hope that history will repeat itself and China will once again become a leader in porcelain manufacturing during the 21 st century. As pioneers of the art form it would be a shame for the Chinese to permanently loose their grip on the marketplace.
