Christies Summer Preview Party in Red hook

Christies first open, Contemporary & postmodern preview party was happened in Red hook, NY which is their storage space.  It is second year.  It wasn't well organized like last year.  They didn't have much works and didn't have many interesting pieces which was disappointed...
But the Party was fun...

NY Frieze Week 2018

TEFAF Spring 2018

It is only second year in NY.  I feels like it grows so fast.  This year, they featured 90 of the world’s most illustrious dealers in modern and contemporary art and design, with 24 new participants, including Gagosian, Gladstone Gallery, Hauser & Wirth, Marian Goodman Gallery, Lévy Grovy, Matthew Marks Gallery, Mnuchin Gallery, Taffin, White Cube, and more. The Fair provides an unrivaled draw for a community of collectors, museum curators, and art lovers from around the world.

So many people came preview hours. All major dealers were in their booth most of preview hours as well.  Could tell how important the fair is.  It was so nice to seat on Park Ave. Armory mezzanine level balcony and having a glass of Ruinart champagne and Lobster roll overviewing the show.

opening day was fabulous as always... #ninayashar's hijab was beautiful...
Galerie Gmurzynska created very unique exhibition space last year and this year. I gave them big credit for it.
loved how HostlerBurrows presents their pieces...

Art New York

They combine with context NY this year.  Somehow it was smaller than previous years.  But I could see many international galleries and artists which was nice.  Since most big art fairs go with big or popular artists with New York galleries, it was refreshing to see cuban and monacan artist works.

Frieze NY

There was major change in the Frieze since they changed their exhibition layout.  They used to be known for well organized and big open space, but this time, they made smaller sections, and no gallery has a huge space which was benefit for small galleries.  It feels more intimate which could see art more personally....  didn't find anything so different or interesting works, but in general, they always have decent pieces...

Design On a Dime NYC 2018

Every year Design on a Dime brings out the industry's biggest names—and its savviest bargain hunters. The fundraiser, which supports Housing Works, features 60 room vignettes by the city's top designers and a host of rising talents, and every item in every room is for sale at 50 to 80 percent off retail prices. All proceeds go to Housing Works programs to provide housing and healthcare to homeless people with AIDS and HIV.

Curated by Younghye was participated in it this year as one of vignette designers.
We called up all artist and art lover friends for donation. So we had ceramics, photography, painting, sculpture, and vintage work, and furniture... with color and texture, we collected quite great pieces...

The space was 12'W x 10'L x 8' H. We did space planing with Korean traditional way. All furniture was placed around wall. Cushions and three art pieces were placed in the center, so they can use for different occasions (table or seating).

Curated by Younghye's Concept Sketch which was introduced in BOH (Editor at Large)
It was quite challenging in the beginning since we had to design the space with donation items. We couldn't see everything and sometimes different items were delivered in the process. So we had to change concept three times and wall color four times...

But in the end, it was so much fun, and we raised over 1.2 Millions in the Design On A Dime NYC 2018.  It was a fun and reward event.
